When you hear about Big Rapids, a lot of the time it is dubbed the "College Town." Yes, Ferris State University is in the middle of town...but we have so much more to offer. Big Rapids is a great place to raise a family. It offers a variety of schools including public and private, many local churches to attend and lots of activities all through out the year. It has homes in town that are very affordable and within five-seven minutes outside of it you can have a home in the country. We have a nice mixture of older Victorian style, new construction and many renovated houses.

The community really offers a small town feel where people care about their neighbors and supporting our local businesses. Christmas time is one of my favorite times of year. Downtown has a window painting contest; there is a huge parade and our local candy shop has tons of freshly made fudge and treats.

If you prefer summer months, the Muskegon River runs trough Big Rapids and offers kayaking and tubing. If you have never tubed down the river here it is definitely something to put on your bucket list. But come see it for yourself and decide if Big Rapids is where you want to be.
