Douglas Park, First Street Beach has a lot to offer families in regards to play. From the beach, you can access 4 amazing playgrounds! The first one has old fashioned playground equipment located right on the beach. Second is the iconic Rocket Park that is a short walk from the beach, fully equipped with a Rocket slide. The third playground is a recent addition as of July 2015 and it's a second Rocket Park. A brand new structure that is painted a vibrant red, white, and blue. Finally, the fourth playground around the corner is Lighthouse Park. It offers an enormous wooden playground that is suitable for toddlers on up! I love to play on it too! Make sure to visit them all, they each offer different play experiences.

The Lions Club built and supports the cabanas and the picnic pavilion as part of their commitment to the community. These structures can be used for weddings, family reunions, fundraising dinners, family picnics, and a place to watch the freighters and boats come and go.

Located at the west end of First Street on Lake Michigan the park includes a boat launch into the Manistee River near Lake Michigan, a fish cleaning station, a picnic area with pavilions that overlook Lake Michigan and a short fishing pier.
