    Thetford Township, Michigan is a Genesee County township with a population of just under 6,700, and it topped the list of the 50 safest cities in Michigan in 2021. You read that correctly - in the community of Clio Schools, the Township of Thetford topped the list of safes places to live in the state of Michigan

    Now we all know that the area has many ups and downs with the township offices but overall is working things out slowly but surely. This area boasts properties with nice acreage and well-built homes. With M57 running right through the township, it makes getting to town and the expressway very convenient. It's nice to have a part of the local community recognized for something like safety.

    Applebee's in Clio just recently opened on April 6th, 2015 and they are booming! I have been there a couple of times for lunch since they opened and the service has been exceptional. The servers are always smiling and happy. They are quick to get you seated and hydrated. Food is delicious and comes out of the kitchen within a decent amount of time. I would recommend anyone and everyone to go to Applebee's in Clio if in the area and hungry. They are great!

    The City of Clio has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It has several beautiful gardens and parks all within walking distance from the Historic Downtown. Clio also has all the amenities that you would ever need when living somewhere, such as a grocery store, pharmacy and a laundromat. Clio has a great school system, several daycare centers and is a great place to live if looking to move.

    Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Clio is a really great place to grab a bite to eat or get a sweet treat. They have a healthy menu full of many choices including salads, wraps and a wide variety of smoothies. This is a great choice when out and about in Clio.

    "Bridge Park" is Clio's newest park located on the corner of Linden Road and M-57. This beautiful park is home to a butterfly garden that attracts beautiful monarch butterflies. Full of beautiful flowers, a picnic area and a walking trail.

    If your looking for a great place to have lunch in Clio, try Lucky's Steakhouse, you can't beat their lunch specials. Great food, great Prices, great atmosphere. My favorites are the New York strip steak sandwich and the Pecan crusted chicken salads.

    Growing up and working in the Clio area, it's been amazing to watch the changes and the growth that have taken place over the years. Clio, with its small town feel, has nearly everything you find in a larger town. Plenty of shopping, numerous restaurants, and several big box stores such as Walmart and Menard's just to name a few. And the Clio Park with its numerous bike paths, playgrounds and amphitheater is a great place for the family.

    I have worked in Clio for many years now. The downtown area is where a public park is. It has many toys for the children to play on. Always clean and well kept. Picnic areas and a great bike path that goes for 20 miles. It is done in cement and it's always clean and a great place to ride your bike, have picnics and let your children play. It's safe, close to downtown. Great place to come downtown and do many activities with your family. Great for kids of all ages.

    I moved to Clio in 1990. At that time, and in a different career, I worked for a company that had me spending time in the Flint area and the Saginaw area. Clio was the perfect location for commuting between the two and 24 years later, I'm still here! I often help families find a home here for the same reason that brought me. I raised two sons in Clio who graduated from the school system with honors, then went on to graduate from college making the Dean's List. It is a great location, right next to I-75 and right on M-57. Our community has changed since 1990 with the emergence of Walmart, Menard's, Mott Community College Northern Tier, Applebee's and Lucky's Restaurant, just to name a few community staples. Just a few miles to the north and you have the Outlet Mall in Birch Run. Numerous golf courses are within minutes of town including Clio Country Club, which has a beautiful golf course. In Clio, you get that small town experience with all the conveniences of living in a bigger city. It is a great place to live!
