Hartland will be opening a movie theatre in the now defunct Walmart location in the Hartland Towne Square, located just east of US23 on the south side of Highland Road, M59. Imagine Entertainment is planning a 64,600-square-foot movie theater with 10 standard movie screens and an IMAX-style screen sometime in 2017.

Just one of the many things that makes Hartland a great place for families is a group called Hartland Moms. What started out as a Facebook page for a few moms to connect has turned into a group of over 1,300 women who share information daily on schools, charities, events, local services, and much more. Do you need a local plumber? Looking for information on the fifth grade field trip? Wondering about a new restaurant, when report cards get mailed, or suggestions for what to do with the kids this weekend? Ask Hartland Moms! It's a closed page accessible only after verifying that you do live in Hartland and have/had students in the school district. No advertising is allowed, just a sharing of local information and resources!
  • The new Hartland Township hiking/biking nature trail connects the Hartland Township Hall to the Hartland High School and Meijers Thrifty Acres on M-59 at U.S. 23. The trail meanders behind Woodcliff, Woodcliff Village and Fawn Ridge Condominiums. It is about a mile long and there are plenty of deer, wetlands, waterfowl, and open meadows. I have also provided a link to the nearby Highland Recreation Area.

  • I can't wait for spring to get back to my favorite golf course, The Majestic at Lake Walden. We are so spoiled to have such a great course right in our back yard. People will drive for hours up north to play at a course like this. Spread out over 1400 acres it is truly Majestic. You can even take a boat ride across the lake to the tenth tee. Once out there you will not see any homes. You will see plenty of deer, turkey, fox and other wild life. acroos the lake you can also see the Crouse mansion from Walden woods, which is where I had my wedding reception 23 years ago.The staff really appreciates your business and will go out of there way to make your experience enjoyable. Come and play all 27 holes at the Majestic at Lake Walden
  • I married my beautiful bride 23 years ago in this quaint downtown/village gem. From there we celebrated at Walden Woods in the historic Crouse Mansion. A step back in time, but forever present in the moment.

The historic Hartland Music Hall was a gift to the community from John Robert Crouse, Sr. Mr. Crouse was a local philanthropist who performed many community services through a program he sponsored called the "Hartland Area Project." The Music Hall is the central structure of the beautiful settlement of Hartland. It was built by members of the First Congregational Church in 1858. It is one the oldest public buildings in Livingston County, an outstanding example of Greek Revival architecture.

The church was purchased by Mr. Crouse in the late 1920s for $500. The conversion from a church to the Hartland Music Hall was done in 1931 by Professor Emil Lorch, dean of the University of Michigan School of Architecture. During the conversion to a music hall, a marvelous Kilgen pipe organ was installed and the magnificent column porticoes were added to the front of the building.

Hartland is a tiny quaint little town close to US23 and M59. There are a number of big box stores located at M59 and US23. There are also a quite a few restaurants and bars. The Black Rock Bar Grille stands out as an interesting dining experience. You cook your own steak piece by piece on a hot rock which allows you to cook each piece to your own preference and eat it while it is hottest, juiciest, and most succulent, (If you get it cooked right :-) ). Let's just say there is a learning curve and leave it there. There is also a new paved hiking, biking, nature trail that connects Meijer Super Market to the Hartland Township Hall which is very nice... but... not in this weather. I will get some pictures of that when the weather breaks. The high school is ranked as a 10 by great schools. A good friend of mine mentors the robotics competition team at competing Goodrich Schools and says that he is very impressed with Hartland's robotics competition program. Southeast Michigan is very robotics rich because all of the engineers and skilled trades from the big three auto makers. I have included a little YouTube link of the 2009 Memorial Parade for just a little local flavor.
