    Berrien Springs is a rural farming village with a hometown feel located in central Berrien County and is part of the Southwestern Michigan fruit belt. Berrien Springs has a variety of fruit and vegetable farms including U-Pick farms. These farms produce everything from apples, a wide range of berries, grapes, corn, soybeans, Christmas trees and a variety of vegetables.

    The area is also becoming known for its local vineyards and wineries. The village is about 10 miles east of Lake Michigan and about two miles east of the US 31 Connector which connects I-94 to the Indiana Toll Road. Berrien Springs is about 25 minutes from South Bend.

    Its location in the Lake Chapin area provides great outdoor recreational opportunities including fishing and boating. Visitors and residents can enjoy a park, called the Grove, which overlooks Lake Chapin. The Joseph Valley Parkway links the Greater Berrien Springs area with St. Joseph and Niles. It is home of the Berrien County Youth Fair, Andrews University and the Berrien County Intermediate School District.

    Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds is located off US Highway 31 in Berrien Springs. This fairground is the home every August to the Berrien County Youth Fair. The fair was started in 1945. Through the years the fairgrounds have been able to adapt to current economic trends. They do winter rental storage in their commercial area buildings. This helps people who need to store Motorhomes, boats, campers and other items for the winter and also gives the fairgrounds a source of income through the winter months. Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds also rents out their facilities to groups who wish to hold functions. Through the years they have held several animal shows including horse, dog and cat shows. Other shows they have held are craft, car, antique and trade. They also offer spaces for company picnics, family reunions, meetings and banquets. By utilizing these different revenue streams they have been able to keep the fairgrounds maintained.
