Warren Dunes State Park is located in Sawyer, just 2.5 miles south from Bridgman. This park has 3 miles of shoreline, 6 miles of hiking trails and covers about 1,950 acres. They boast a sand dune of about 240 feet.

While taking some out-of-state guests south along Lake Michigan, we went by the stonework sign for the park. One of my friends could not stop talking about the sign. She had never seen a park sign so detailed! (We have a lot of them in our state). We decided to go back to the park so she could get a better look. It had been a while since I had visited this park. My husband and I use to walk the beach because we could walk for about 2 miles with out having to worry about trespassing on other peoples property.

I had forgotten how fantastic the views of Lake Michigan are from the parking lot. There were few people in the parking lot when we were there. It was too early in the season. The mini beach store at the bath houses were not open. There were information kiosks in the parking lots with a lot of great information. They listed swimming, hiking and cross country skiing as activities at this park. The picnic and playground area make this a great place to spend the day.
