Stevensville is St Joseph's southern neighbor. The area is known for Grand Mere State Park and its three lakes: North Lake, Middle Lake and South Lake. My husband and I love going to Lincoln Township Beach and watch the storms come in over the lake. This area has it all, homes priced to sell, shops and restaurants. My husband, having grown up in Stevensville, thinks the area still has that hometown feel!

Stevensville has awesome summer activities. Here are a few:
•The "Stevensville Movie Night" shows movies at dusk (certain days) on a large screen in their Municipal Parking Lot
•They have been having their "Liberty Days" for over 40 years. The festivities include a car show, flea market, food, kid's activities and much more
•They also have an annual village wide yard sale that they sponsor

Lincoln Township Community Center Park is located by both the Lincoln Township Library and Lincoln Charter Township Hall in Stevensville. This township park has a lot going on. There are many sport related areas such as tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts and a softball field.

Community Center Park also has a picnic area with a playground. This park is used a lot in both summer and winter months. In the winter, the township makes a skating rink in the field of the park. During the summer they have a Fun Day for everyone in the community and surrounding communities. Each year the event gets larger and larger. As my husband, Chris says Stevensville is a great place to raise kids and enjoy your neighbors.

Lincoln Township Beach is located in my husband, Chris's, hometown of Stevensville. Chris, and I like to go to this park to watch storms come in off the lake. This township park has a boardwalk, gazebo lookout, stairs, path to Lake Michigan beach. Swimming, fishing and hiking trails make this a great place to get exercise. There is a picnic area, rustic bathroom facilities and plenty of parking. It was quiet there on my recent visit. There was no one else around. This is a quiet beach and a great place to sit and read a book.

My husband, Chris loves this park. One of the first places he took me to when we moved here from Atlanta was Grand Mere State Park. Back then the long trek to the beach was well worth it. Now, 20 years later, it is a bit more difficult for me to go and enjoy this lovely beach. There are no restrooms at the beach and you have to climb through the dunes to reach the beach.

This park has large sand dunes and one mile of Lake Michigan shoreline to enjoy. The three Grand Mere inland lakes (North Lake - 62 acres, Middle Lake - 47 acres and South Lake - 13 acres) are hidden behind the dunes on over 1,000 acres of undeveloped woods and sand dunes. There are unmarked hiking trails that are used in the summer for hiking and in the winter for cross country skiing. There is a ½ mile marked nature trail that is great for small children.

For the fisherman there is a boat launch on Middle lake. At North Lake you will find a picnic area with a playground for the kids and grills for dad. The Lakeshore Rotary Club has help build a lovely area park at North Lake. They recently had a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on June 18, 2015 (I will need to go back and take a look at new the park). This park is very popular with bird watchers. Almost 250 species of birds migrate to this park each season.

Over Memorial Day, my husband Chris and I stopped by North lake in Grand Mere State Park. My husband grew up right down the road from this park. He has great memories of spending almost every summer day biking to this park with his friends. We try to stop by North Lake a couple of times a year to visit the Lakeshore Rotary Club Memory Bricks that are at this lake. My father-in-law Bud Bomberger has a brick on one of the columns.

North Lake is around 62 acres. This lake is one of three lakes within Grand Mere State Park. At North Lake you will find a picnic area with a playground for the kids and grills for dad. This part of the park is the closest to Lake Michigan beach area for swimming. They allow metal detecting on the beach, but the walk to get to the beach is difficult. There is a trail sign leading to the beachfrom the end of Grand Mere Road. It is about a quarter-mile walk over the dunes to the beach. There are no restrooms at this beach. This park is dog friendly. Dogs on a leash are allowed in both the beach and swimming area.
