Sturgis is a city located in Sturgis Township within St Joseph County close to the Indiana border. The city has a lot of new growth with businesses moving in. The most Sturgis has going for it is their lakes. Sturgis and Sturgis Township have a lot of lakes. I do not know where to begin with them. The two largest are Lake Templene with 1200 acres and Klinger Lake with 830 acres which sits in both White Pigeon and Sturgis. The smallest lake is Dark Lake with 18 acres. There are quite a few mid sized lakes in the area. Perrin Lake with 166 acres, Omena Lake with 160 acres, Thompson Lake with 150 acres, Minnewaukan Lake with 145 acres and Tamarack Lake with 125 acres. The smaller lakes are many: Sweet Lake with 65 acres, Stewart Lake with 60 acres, Grey Lake with 53 acres. Cade Lake with 45 acres, Camel Lake with 34 acres, Sauger Lake with 34 acres, Sylvan Lake with 34 acres, Lee Lake with 30 acres, Pickerel Lake with 30 acres and Williams Lake has 30 acres. The lakes have waterfront land for sale, small waterfront cottages, moderate year round lakefront homes and large vacation homes to choose from.

The countryside is dotted with affordable small homes. The homes in the area range from $50,000 to a million dollars.

Many of you have heard about some new businesses coming to Sturgis soon. I am excited about our growing community! We will soon have a Meijer store, which I believe will bring other businesses along with it. We will also have a Wings, Etc. downtown in a newly renovated building, and I have heard a Buffalo Wild Wings is coming soon as well. I have heard rumors of a few other potential new businesses as well. This is exciting news for our community to continue to grow and prosper!

All sports Klinger Lake offers excellent water quality with all water sports. There is a golf course on the lake, and a boat marina. Klinger Lake is the perfect spot to spend some free time!
