Born and raised in Sanford, I have seen many changes over the years. In May 2020, the biggest change happened when the Sanford Dam and Edenville dams were breached after seven inches of rain fell in a very short period of time. It flooded many homes on both Wixom and Sanford Lake. The town and area communities rallied and did amazing fundraising, cleaning, and restoration. The town offers many variations of housing, from beautiful lakefront homes to houses on wooded acreage. Public schools offer great education and up-to-date technology. It was updated with an auditorium, auxiliary gym, and media center in the high school. The elementary school added four additional classrooms.
