    Cascade Dam
    The first dam was built here in 1853 to power a timber mill. In 1926, it was replaced by the present structure which is owned by Cascade Township. This dam can generate a maximum of 1,400 kilowatts of electricity at one time, enough to power 1,400 homes.
  • Cascade Burton Park is located in Cascade Township. When I was there a lady was enjoying the warm fall day reading a book in the grass. The park has 80 acres and lots of walking/hiking trails. It is just east of Cascade Rd at the end of Burton St.

    Cascade Charter Township is located in the southeastern section of Kent County, about 10 miles southeast of Grand Rapids. Cascade is a quaint town with a small downtown shopping area and other amenities. One of Cascade's defining features is the Thornapple River. There are several parts of the river where you can fish, boat and kayak. Cascade is a very nice community!
