Rugg Pond is a beautiful place to go walk. There are many trails and places to wander, with all kinds of cool things to see. I go there multiple times every summer to enjoy the scenery and fresh air.

Rugg Pond flows into beautiful Rapid River, so you can hike along the river for as long as you would like. There used to be a really cool, old hydro-electric dam there that used to supply power to Kalkaska and the surrounding areas. I remember going there when I was young and playing around the old dam (sorry don't have any photos of the dam). Rugg Pond is a must-see when you're in the area. A link to some history is attached.
