Albion is situated at the confluence of the north and south branches of the Kalamazoo River and the town has celebrated that ever since it was settled in the early 1830's. Albion was formerly known as a primarily industrial municipality with numerous foundries, but since the 21st Century it has shifted in the direction of cleaner manufacturing, technology and agriculture. Albion is home to Albion College which has recently been named one of America's top 100 Liberal Arts Colleges. There are sure plenty of city parks in Albion and some say there are more parks per person than any place in the United States.
